monterey

Oma and Opa were in town for a week for Emma's birthday. We had a great time in Monterey for the day. I think the best part for her was watching all of the seagulls and pigeons. At lunch we were shocked to watch her pick up a piece of bread on her fork and eat it! I guess she really is watching and imitating everything we do.

We played with sticks on the grass.

Emma smelled flowers with Oma.

Emma looked cute for Dad.

Now that's a happy family.

I think maybe I need to make sure Jens gets in some pictures too!

We can't believe she is one year old already! It has only taken me a year to get my act together and start a blog. I've really enjoyed keeping up with everyone else's baby, it's a shame not to share Emma as well.

Her birthday party was a lot of fun with family and friends. We only wish out of state family and friends could have been there.

Emma did not care for the cake situation. I'm not sure if it was because everyone was staring at her, or because she knows what she likes and apparently it's not cake!


Opening presents was a lot of fun. She actually participated more than I thought she would. Well, let's get that straight, I opened and she played. (Yes, we did have a wardrobe change after eating cake)
